Habitat

Enclosure

  • Minimum 60L tank (larger for adults)
  • Deep substrate for burrowing
  • Water dish large enough to soak

Keep enclosure simple and secure as they are strong and messy.

Diet

  • Staple: Insects (crickets, locusts, roaches)
  • Occasional: Pinky mice (adults only)
  • Juveniles: Feed daily
  • Adults: Feed 2–3 times per week

Dust food with calcium and vitamin supplements regularly.

Avoid overfeeding as they can become obese easily.

  • Warm side: 26–30°C
  • Cool side: 22–24°C
  • 6–7% UVB
  • Humidity High: 60%–80%
  • Heat mat recommended (with thermostat!)

Provide a warm, slightly humid environment with a shallow water area for soaking.

African bullfrogs can be aggressive and require space and stable conditions.
